If you are poor people from Texas living in a cult compound you will probably have your cult raided by the FBI and taken to jail. If you are rich actors in a cult you are called Scientologists and allowed to spread your idiocity on Oprah and the Today Show.

I had an aunt that had a mental illness who was once talked into stopping her medication by a different cult like religion. It is disgusting that people like Tom Cruise and other nonqualified people stand up against things that they know nothing about and prey on people at their weakest moments. You can not be a highschool dropout and give someone medical advice! I read webMD does that make me qualified to tell Matt Lauer that people should not take their prescribed medications?

If it is true about John Travolta not giving his child medication to help with his medical condition then that is truly something they should be in jail for! Anyone who will allow a made up religion come before the health of their family members needs mental help, but unfortunately they are against that!

Rolling Stone did a great, multi-page investigative piece on Scientology a few years back and what came through clearly was how this is all based on money. You buy your way into the 'upper levels' and that gives the appearance that the religion causes people to be successful. But for the average Joe, it just means bankruptcy and brainwashing. It's one long extended infomercial. Pretty banal as far as mind-cults go, but then leave it to America to come up with a religion based on the dollar.
