Disneyland Hong Kong writes all their signs in English, simplified and traditional Chinese but the language spoken is Cantonese. Hong Kong is not really part of China, it just remains under China's control because China threatens to cut off Hong Kong's electricity and water so no, it is not the same as mainland China and they don't use Mandarin at Disneyland to satisfy the greater population of China because the greater population still has to get Visas to go there and so many don't. Just because they're forced to learn Mandarin in school and are grouped together with mainlanders internationally does not mean they are Chinese in the mainland sense.

[re=4471823]Re: caroaber[/re] The Pudong district is where the airport is. You have probably never been to Shanghai if you don't know it.

I've lived in Shanghai... we're talking a city of over 18 million. Pudong district is a huge financial centre in China (Jin Mao tower anyone?) and Disneyland would do very well there. As for residents losing there homes, this is very common in China and happened to a lot of people while I was living there. The city was preparing for the 2010 world expo and thought nothing of tearing down homes/ slums to make the city appear better... this doesn't surprise me at all. China is very affordable.. you can eat well for a dollar or two a day, and if you know the right places to stay and go within the city you can stay there very cheaply not to mention the subway system can get you anywhere in the city within 10 minutes.
