Barbra doesn't need the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. She has enough awards as it is. She has 2 Oscars, 1 Tony, and a bunch of Grammys, and Emmys. Only one other female has all those. Keep fooling yourself that Barbra isn't influential worldwide. A lot of female singers have been insipred by her and wish to sing like her. People like Celine, Whitney, Sinead O'Connor, Diana Ross, Judy Garland, Kathie Lee Gifford, Liza Minelli, Bette Midler, Michael Jackson, and even Madonna have admired her and/or been influenced by her. Women try hard to sing like her and can't..no one tries to sing like Madonna, because it wouldn't be challenging. Madonna may sell more records than her and may be more popular among people today, but that's all she'll ever have on her.

You're right..Madonna isn't rock and roll..that's why her induction in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a joke. However, Aretha and Madonna are mainstream artists, Barbra isn't; that's why they were considered. The Rock and Roll Hall fame isn't the biggest honor in the world, you know.
