When regular people like you and me do something good, of course it counts. But regular people don't have as much influence on the world. If you're famous, why NOT make it known that you're doing something good? You get other people to do it too. Not everyone, but definitely a larger amount of people than a regular person could get to join. I don't see the problem in using your fame for that kind of stuff. I'm not just talking about this.
