She is a very funny woman, and I'm sure she feels vindicated to have this much popularity and respect after having been exiled from the entertainment world last decade for coming out of the closet. Regardless, she simply has no place as a judge on American Idol. That would be like letting Zac Efron play for the LA Lakers because he's a fan and has enormous popularity (although he probably knows more about playing basketball than Ellen knows about being a performing vocalist). I know it must be hard to find a qualified person to do it because most of those qualified people are too busy with their music careers to dedicate that kind of time. Maybe they could have tapped someone like Toni Braxton for that, instead. I love Ellen.
