You should have gone to the birthday.
Invite them formally in writing to a nice dinner on your dime.
First, a good restaurant, no kids. A couple weeks later, Sunday dinner at your house, bring the kids. Stop the chatter and just make it happen. If they don't show up the first time, well, they owe you one. Keep asking.

Is that a light or two coming on? It looks like a bit of an 'a ha' here to me. Candy's statement 'I may not approve of everything she does, but I love her.' That is something.
the light will really come on once Candy gets to that point where she realizes that she only has approval over the things she does in her own life, and that Tori, a full grown family woman, has to be the one to have approval over HER own life. It's not up to Candy to approve. That ended when Tory turned 21. It's a much different world to live in now, and Tori lives as her generation lives, as so she should. Tori doesn't have the luxury of living by her Mom's standards in today's world, plus she has the right to be her own self, and learn by making her own successes and mistakes.

Im starting to believe Candy Spelling is going through something pretty fucking mental because You just don't do what she's doing, even if your in the right, that's still your child and you don't try to trash or critice your child to the media, you are the parent that means through thick and thin, that means when your child fucks up you still stand by there side but Candy girl I think your the one that fucked up from the beginning and you just keep digging yourself deeper…
Remember your the one getting old and pretty soon when you cant wipe your own ass your gonna need someone to do it for you

Tori if you read this I also have a mother that is the same as yours . I cried when she did not come to my graduation from school ,I cried when she did not come to my bridal shower or baby shower or the birth of my first daughter my second daughter and finally my son , I also watched the door in hopes of her being there she would say she was coming but would never show.
My friends were my family and my kids adore me because they know I truly love them and would be anywhere they needed me to be they are my life . My girls and my son are so close and I can tell you love your children so much . Dean is right he is trying to protect you my husband did the same and my friends. You come to a point and say enough and you focus on your family and enjoy life I tried so much I cried after every event..Everyone would ask did your mom come for Christmas ? no.did she see the new babies ? no.The grand kids birthdays graduations first steps no. we rarely talk she has no reason for this she has no drinking drug or any other problem never has she is a selfish woman who thinks I owe her for giving me life and she can hurt me whenever she wants to.I wish I knew you but when I watched the show I cried for you because it is my life only in Jersey. I would hug you and tell you to move on love your children and husband. My children are my life and I would do anything for them do not become so consumed with your moms rejection look at your children and be happy.
