Re: insight – So obviously if your brother had a child you would not leave that baby alone with him because of his illness right? So why was this mother allowed to go through with a pregnancy and be alone with a child if she had previous mental issues? I don't care if she ever showed violent tendencies before or not - she should have been watched, period!! No, no one can understand a mental illness and how it affects people/families unless they live it but that lays responsibility at the feet of the baby's father and her family doesn't it? They allowed this to happen by letting down their guard!

usually when u have an easily offended post its a picture of a celebrity looking haggard….i am soooo dissapointed you didnt give a warning, like "disturbing" This is traumatizing to some people.

My final statement to all who still think this human should be sterilized for having an illness….THIS IS NOT A BLACK AND WHITE SITUATION…look at all the facts before you are so quick to judge. Hitler sterilized human beings for the same reasons. And, he thought that by the skillful use of propaganda (in this case the media), one can make others see living hell as paradise and vise versa. I hope none of you ever have to experience a close loved one endure such a horrible mental illness.

Re: bh87 – YES! I agree with you! Not that I think abusing animals is ok, but I can certainly forgive Michael Vick more easily than I can this woman, even knowing she had mental problems. I have NO sympathy for anyone who hurts children. They are babies and so defenseless and it is NOT right.

Re: insight – I think that at this point it's not a question if she should be freed, it's if she can be freed. I honestly don't think she would be safe, unless she moves and changes her name, which is maybe what will happen. It is indeed very sad though, because there is no happy ending in this situation

Texas is an AVID supporter of the death penalty, and she'll probably die, but I would rather have her suffer for the rest of her life in jail knowing that she killed her only baby. THEN she can fry in hell for all I care.

Re: Amanda Says – what does her having to be mexican mean anything? in the story they brought up other mothers who killed their children from texas, one of whom was white….? it doesn't matter from what background your from…people are just crazy
