Yeah, some people have no sense of humor. You know, while Michael Jackson allowed his stuff to be parodied, he NEVER allowed the "sacred" Beatles songs he owned to be parodied. Although he had no problem selling them for commercials and that Cirque De Soleil show in Vegas. What a tool! Weird Al rocks!

fatchan I'm with you about James Blunt having a sense of humor!

Other Record Labels have refused having their Artist's songs parodied. It's like this … once songs are recorded by an artist, their Record Label ultimately has the decision of how they want those songs promoted. Simply because they have a vested interest.

Seems to me Al is being portrayed as having a hissy fit because he can't do what he likes with someone else's song, yet has had tremendous exposure already from James Blunt's 'Your Beautiful' parody on Youtube, and continues to do so. Plus it's great we've all been able to see it, and James Blunt has too probably. Win/win all round I say.

I think James Blunt has crappy music but he does have a good sense of humour actually. Just watch several interviews, for example the top gear interview. I doubt he had anything to do with this rejection.

In Rolling Stone magazine this year, they had famous musicians vote on the best singers of all time. They handed out surveys to various musicians who could vote for up to 20. Everyone picked various singers and who they thought was important and put them on the list. When they posted some of those ballots on the the website, they included the ballot of Bruce Springsteen, David Crosby, Solomon Burke…. and James Blunt.

James Blunt put himself as 1 on the survey above John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Freddie Mercury, Nina Simone, etc. That says it all as far as I'm concerned.

Weird Al said it: James Blunt and his record company are pitiful and fuckin' patetic. Most famous artists have allowed Weird Al to parodise them and this loser and his record label will not allow it.
