The problem is there isn't enough research, but people have to understand that pharmaceutical companies are able to 'prove' the efficacy of their drugs because they have endless amounts of $$ to fund it. They also spend tons of cash on lobbyists to keep public research dollars away from alternative medicine research and to try and get the FDA to ban and tightly regulate alternatives. Now why would they spend this money if they didn't have something to lose?? Pharmaceutical companies don't want people to get better from something other than drugs because herbs, enzymes, and naturally occurring compounds can not be patented. I am not saying that everything can be cured without medicine or surgery, but we need to explore these options through research not try and suppress it. I spent 12,000 a year on drugs for crohn's and didn't get better, I spend about 400$ a year on herbs and enzymes and no longer have any symptoms. I want that 50,000$ back.

Her son is better, she is just sharing her experience. If your son was diagnosed with autism, you tried a treatment, and he was better wouldn't you want to share it with others?
