The Silence of the Lambs is notable, however, for sweeping all 5 major oscar categories (Actor, Actress, Director, Writer, and Best Picture), becoming only the 3rd film in Oscar history to do so. (The others were "It Happened One Night" in 1935 and "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" in 1975.) Actually, I think that's really a much better judge of quality in the end.

This rumour has been debunked several times over. The story is actually in reference to the original Hannibal sequel that was already made…8 years ago. If the Ridley Scott + no Jodie Foster beats sounded familiar it's because that's exactly what happened the first time. The sad thing is that if they didn't learn anything then, they probably never will and this film wouldn't have been much better than "Hannibal."

There is no new Hannibal movie… An old article from 2000 surfaced somehow and that is what this is. Notice it mentions nothing about Julianne Moore and it talks about it as the sequel to Silence of the Lambs and not Hannibal. No new movie people… which actually bums me out because I am one of the very few that actually LOVED Hannibal.

Though I think Jodie Foster was of course incredible in the role of Clarice and the film deserved it 5 Oscars (which is a record.. it's only the second film in history to win this many Oscars. the first being One Flew Over the Cuckoo's nest) I saw Hannibal and I love Julianne Moore and thought she did a great job. But the movie wasn't very good itself. I don't like the idea of Cat Blanchett. She's an OK actress but she's not tough enough or good enough to play Clarice. I also don't think they need to do a fourth movie. This movie was amazing, but the ones that followed weren't very good and they need to stop while they are… where they are instead of making it worse.

Cate blanchett is a totally hot choice. If it is not Jodie herself then it should be Cate, if not Cate then shut down this remake.

Ok since no one in Hollywood can come up with ideas. How about having Lindsey Lohan play Clarice daughter 20 odd years later. If she can clean
up nicely! Lins would be perfect! Let her be in the same field as her mother
Jodie Foster!!! Think how that would look. Lins can pull it off! Just sayin…

Well…. there's already been a sequel. First, Silence of the Lambs, then Hannibal, then they made Red Dragon, and then Hannibal Rising. That's the complete Hannibal Lecter film and book series.

So, either Thomas Harris is in the works with a fifth book or helping out with the fifth installment in the film series. If neither's happening, I bet this movie will be shitty as hell.

Foster proves once again that he's Brain Dead. Julianne Moore or Cate Blanchett are much better choices for any movie role than the overrated, over-the-hill Foster.

Cate Blanchett was supposed to be Clarice in Hannibal. She will be fine.

I just hope they do something actually interesting with Hannibal.
