Can you people not READ? It said CITY, not state. Duh. Oh, and for all of you liberals who think the South is "redneck" --- whatever happened to your "inclusiveness" and open-minded way of thinking? I see. It only works one-way, right.

I'm going to say Chicago. I've lived in the Chicago area for most of my life, and I'd have to agree with the negative press that this city gets from the media. The suburban people seem to be much heavier than the city people, from what I see, though. People here seem to think eating what tastes good comes first, and actually thinking about what they are eating comes second (or not at all). Even the gays, who, on average, are notoriously fit, tend to be overweight. Something needs to be done to change the mindset out here. It would help, for starters, if gym memberships weren't so expensive, and there were more fast food-type choices with predominantly healthy food choices.

if we're talking CITIES, not just town and rural areas, then as of 2007 it was cleveland. highest levels of childhood and adult obesity in regards to percentage of population. also one of the poorest cities in the nation...unfortunately, in our country the two are usually linked.
