Even if Ashanti is being "dropped" she is the only person on the Inc SELLING ANYTHING. Lloyd? Ja Rule? I think not. Ashanti a hasbeen? not at all. Even if she were she has sold 23 mil records ww in 6 years and has more awards than these flops you promote on this site, including a grammy and EIGHT nominations. The Declaration was her lowest selling album, yes, but like you said it was the only one not to go PLATINUM, meaning the other THREE did. She's allowed one flop, and that cd wasn't about sales, it was about stepping away from the inc and doing her own thing. The Way That I Love You was nominated and won awards, rightfully so. The only reason that cd didn't do well is because Irv Gotti didn't support her bc he wasn't on it. He couldn't put his pride aside to promote the only artist that could save that sorry label of his.

IRV gotti isn't DROPPING Ashanti. The INC is getting DROPPED by Universal. Don't let Irv Gotti's talk confuse u. You can watch his show Gotti's Way on VH1 to see he is a mess. Ashanti hasn't spoken with or acknowledged Irv Gotti since like 2006, the relationship is sour, she wants out, he is finally going to let her out of her contract (when he originally said she couldn't leave unless she paid to get out).

I realize this site is more Hollywood centered, but Ashanti is doing the concert version of the musical The Wiz at NY's City Center this summer. Most concert musicals there transfer to Broadway the following season - so she may well be moving to the next phase of her career.

THANK GOD! I can not stand the sound of her voice. She thinks she can sing like Sacha fierce but - um not so much! Besides after her awful attitude during "PUNKED" - like she is better than everyone else - disgraceful! I am glad she got the ax - maybe it will bring her back to reality.

HEY PEREZ! The scoop on Black gossip sites is that irv is mad that Ashanti no longer sleeps with him and is in love with rapper Nelly. So for the last couple of years, she has gotten very little promotion and now she is dropped. Ashanti is happy about it because she can sign with someone else! Irv would not let her out of the contract before when their relationship originally ended.
