It's natural that Jason's making good music. He used to be the drummer to Phantom Planet, and also his little brother Robert, who also went through an "acting period" is the lead vocalist and frontman to Rooney…
They are talented these guys. No wonder they're family to the Coppola's and even were related to Elvis

Jason's actually already been successful as a musician. He used to be in Phantom Planet, he was actually the drummer. For those of you who have no idea who the hell Phantom Planet is… think "California" theme song from The O.C.

yea, he was a founding member of phantom planet with his brother, who is still the lead singer! and it was WAY before he was an actor, it was even mentioned on the episode of cribs that he was on, so it is kinda commonly known that he is a musician first, actor second

his brother was in the princess diaries(michael) and now he is in the band called rooney. he's the lead singer.
