Adverse effects
The main side effects of chlorpromazine are due to its anticholinergic properties; these effects overshadow and counteract, to some extent, the extrapyramidal side effects typical of many early generation neuroleptics. These include sedation, slurred speech, dry mouth, constipation, urinary retention and possible lowering of seizure threshold. Appetite may be increased with resultant weight gain, Glucose tolerance may be impaired.[11] Photosensitivity may occur, resulting in increased risk of sunburn.

Chlorpromazine is the neuroleptic drug with the highest rates (0.5% to 1%) of liver toxicity of the cholestatic type.

The sedation effect combined with indifference to physical stimuli, anecdotally known as the "thorazine shuffle," has long been associated with the drug. The image of psychiatric patients staggering mute around a padded cell has earned those particular side effects a place in mainstream pop culture.

In some rare cases psychosis or death can result as a result of the paradoxical lowering of blood pressure, or death due to cardiac arrest.[15

if she is on an antipsychotic and took it too late the night before that would perfectly explain her behavior. my seroquel knocks me out for about ten hours, and if i'm woken up too early i can hardly move, my speech is extremely slurred, and it absolutely seems as though i'm drunk. and that is that.

REGARDLESS of how silly this woman may be, or how fake you think her excuse is, how dare you ever call them crazy pills. I have bipolar and always will. It's a disease just like aids, ms, cancer. there is no cure, just our "crazy pills".

How can you post your "Good Causes" in one minute and then in the very next post say something as completely IGNORANT and OFFENSIVE as this to decent human beings. One more supposedly "open-minded" person propagating the stigma of mental illness. Disgusting Perez.

I've read your blog for years. It's faker, you can tell other people are writing it now...I'm not done yet, but a few more things that push me over the edge and I'm done.

[re=3019588]Re: Missy McGee[/re] agree re the effexor - I was on it for three years and it was a c*nt to get off... Having said that, Kerry's supposedly on Chlorpromazine, which is an antipsychotic and works differently to effexor. IMO she was drinking with it, which is a big no-no.

I don't think Bi - Polar constitutes as crazy ,however I'm dubious about her using this as an excuse for turning up this on a TV show - cancel your interview and stop giving people with this disorder a bad image!

Perez I don't think you should stigmatize people who are on medication for mental health reasons by calling them "crazy pills". People with mental health problems have enough trouble getting acceptance without being labelled as needing "crazy pills"
