Yes, Northern Ireland is technically part of the UK but it is also Ireland. People in the North of Ireland have the choice of dual citizenship, i.e. they may hold a British or Irish passport because, depending on their background (be that cultural or political) they'll prefer one over the other.
Nadine is a very proud IRISH woman from Northern Ireland.
