This is the WORST version of a great song. It takes out all of the power, darkness and isolation and loss the original invokes, I wish I could smack James and Lars for letting them cover this song. It sickens me. No dynamics, good Lord. Before anyone bitches , I AM A MUSICIAN, I played this song for years. I know what Im talking about musically. I bet if Tori covered this song it would be done right, every cover she has done is fucking amazing, I wouldnt mind hearing her take on it. She obviously has the musical insight to know how to channel a song and make it her own but keep the emotions needed. She serves the song.

Hey come on folks. A cover song is not meant to copy the original. It has to have its own style and this cover is excellent. It is part of a project where a couple of German artists cover Metallica songs as a tribute to the band. When Metallica became aware of Stefanie's version of The Unforgiven they where so thrilled about it that they immediately wanted to meet her personally. A few days ago Metallica had a release party for their new album in Berlin, Stefanie and Metallica met there, the band congratulated her on this brilliant cover, and appreciated her special style.

Re: Norbert – So where exactly did you read that Metallica likes this? They probably just said it to be nice since everyone thinks they're such dicks. They are dicks, but I have a hard time believing they'd "like" someone taking their child and raping it, which is essentially what was done here.

wow this sucks so bad! i bet metallica is embarrassed to have someone butcher their music. This song was so powerful and metal and just strait up fuckin awesome. Kirk Hammets solo alone gives me goosebumbs every time i hear it, now i see a nerdy ass lezbo trying to be emo or some shit…so sad this is what music has become
