I have been to probably 20-30 dead shows over the years and if you get it, you understand and if you don't well the scene seems very foreign and weird . Jambands aren't for everyone and in fact my least favorite time for the dead was the years that followed "Touch of Grey" the deads only bonafide "Hit" . the crowd changed to include the popular kids, you know, jocks and cheerleaders that thought they could put on a tie-dye and become a hippie for just one night and then Brent died and then Jerry and it has not been the same . I was fortunate to be there in the early 80's and see the circus that is the Grateful Dead ! Go Obama ! Oh man I hope this show is in Philly ! And honestly, he wasn't that good. He was just a figurehead for a bunch of stoners that don't know how to keep a song short and simple. Micky Heart is the only one in that band that is interesting.
