So they have to go back to Jack's dad's (Christian played by John Terry) story, which involves Ana-Lucia (Michelle Rodriguez). they have to tie all the lose ends of the original flash backs so they can move to the flash fowards, present time, and flash backs for the future. being a LOST fanatic, the answer to this one is easy. they have to touch on the story of Jack (Matthew Fox) and Claire (Emilie de Ravin) being related.
