Oh yeah, what a great goal in life. Being a housewife. You'd think for someone as accomplished to her that girls look up to as a role model, she would refrain from saying something so idiotic. I'm not some uber feminist, either - if she wants to take care of her man, that's great. But the man should take care of the woman equally. Especially now that most women work. It's NOT the 1950's anymore where women sit at the house and men make all the money...both sexes work, so both sexes should be expected to do the household chores and raise the children, if there are any.

I am so sick of Eva Longwhoria. I love her on DH, but she's such a publicity whore. And does anyone EVER hear her talk about ANYTHING but Tony? I HATE couples like that. I've been with my love five years and we're just as great as we were when we first started dating, but I don't go around rubbing it in everyone's face. I'd honestly laugh if they got divorced. I know it sounds terrible, but that'll teach her for not keeping her mouth shut about how great her life is and how she has she greatest husband in the world. JUST SHUT UP.

Anyone remember when Kim Cattrall and her first (or was it second?) husband wrote that book about sex and how it keeps the marriage alive, and then they broke up before they could even go on tour for it? Yeah, I'm thinking the same situation may happen here.

I understand that some wives like taking care of their husbands but it's my belief that the husband and wife take care of each other. It's comments like this that set Latin Women back 500 years and I do not think that comments like these are appropriate for a magazine aimed at empowering Latin women as Longoria herself is the very embodiment of what Latin women should never be, subservient maids. It's easy for American women to be independent because they were fortunate enough to have the Women's Liberation movement in the 60's and 70's but for Latin women, things like that have been embedded into our culture and it's hard for me to fight against that tradition because I think it is a stupid tradition that serves no purpose in today's society. I am for people living their lives the way they want to, but I believe that comments like these are very reckless and destructive to a culture of young Lain American Women who trying to be independent and find a place in this sadistic world. Her comments perpetuate the stereotype of the Latin womon and it is very destructive thing to say and as if she is a good role model to Latin women. She in no way deserves to be interviewed by Latin or any Women's publication for that matter if she strongly holds that belief.

Not a damn thing wrong with that - I feel the same way myself, except sub <i>'knitting'</i> for <i>'sewing'.</i> I think a lot of American women are almost afraid to say that they like to take on that 'motherly' role in the family for fear of being seen as a throwback to when women were startched and pearl-laden. Honestly, if I could be as put together as my Gramma was in the 50s, I'd be damn proud.

I think it's sweet. And no. Her statement doesn't set back women 50 years, you douche. If that's her choice, then good for her! She's proving that a woman can rake in the money at work and be a power businesswoman while still being a sweet housewife (and maybe mother?). IF anything, it just proves that women are now even more powerful than before. Not only are we powerhouse working women, we can make great homes as well. Isn't that a compliment? Why on EARTH does everyone want to be so judgemental about the fact that women want to be women still? Why is it so horrendous to be a mother and a wife?! Isn't that a part of most womens' natures?

She's a good girl. She wants to keep him happy. And I'm sure he does his best to keep her happy as a good man should.

A nice, proper balance. What a hottie too (her - I'm straight).
