Who the hell is Taye Diggs, give me a freaking break. He isn't doing anything else and his career is going no where the Z-lister should shut his pie hole. It's always all about the race card and the fact that black people can pull this card out and use it anytime they want, but white people or people of any other nationality can't do this and get away with it. I will say just this:

I have many gay friends who call each other "fag" or "fudgepacker" and I, being a heterosexual, have no desire to say either word despite hearing it constantly in television and film. That being said it is not my right or my position to tell ANY gay, lesbian or transgender person not to use said word whether I find them offensive or not.

The same applies across the board with any hotbutton words or statements reflecting themselves or their personally defined groups…. I personally believe it is grossly offensive to tell someone how to refer to themselves. I have friends and relatives who are overweight, the word "fat" is a constant in our society and I would never use the word regarding them or not, though I have often heard many of them use it.

What Diggs seems to be saying is that this is not White Americas issue to debate, opions can be had on both sides, but at the end of the day Black Americans are not stop going to say a word based on the desitres of white society.

i agree with the majority of people on here.

I especially like the comment that if we don't have an opinion on what black people do, then get off the backs of women who want to have an abortion or gay people who want rights of their own.

but that is a completely different matter. black people need to stop segregating themselves and maybe they'll feel better about the life they live…n*gga

Isn't the reasoning that one race can use a word and it's okay but if another race uses the word then it's bad, racism? So if we want to rid the world of racism (which, unfortunately will never happen, we can lessen it, but never get rid of it) then maybe it should be okay or not okay for everyone. And I agree with jacki, you start using the term "our people" or "our word" then that is just encouraging segregation.

I don't know….call me educated. I notice that blacks tend to act like nothing is more horrible than to be black in this country. A black man has the greatest possibility of running this country at this very moment. I would never, ever expect to see an Indian, or an Asian up there without being ridiculed (yes, even by blacks). Quit thinking that EVERYone is racist towards you and wake the hell up. Plenty of races get treated like insects, even by YOUR race. Yet, everyone seems to turn their heads then because blacks are the only ones who suffered. Maybe it's different because you're Americans but in other countries…….it worse for people of OTHER colors, not just yourself.

Yes, black people. You should totally get reparations because YOU (each and every individual black person that is currently breathing TODAY) were there when your ANCESTORS experienced the putrid horror that was slavery and every white person (even the babies that were just born YESTERDAY) put "you" through that. Because you were alive then. Because these white people were alive then. Yes, those very same white and black people you see walking around now. Nevermind that some may only be 30 years old. Somehow, they were alive then. Nevermind that there exists people (yes, even non-blacks) that fight and cry out for the justice of humans (yes even blacks) because they just plain respect other people…………..because they are other PEOPLE. It's laughable that a race would demand "payback" for crimes that were not committed this generation.
