So many jealous haters on this board. I admire George Clooney for his diplomacy skills and attempting to try to find a solution. Its unselfish of him to offer to pay more and have the higher earning actors pay more to give the little guy a break. For all the uneducated idiots posting here who have no brains to say anything intelligent about the issue being discussed but just resort to taking envious personal jabs, yelling things like, he's old, he's gay, he's no talented…. Please get a life, Jealousy is an ugly thing. When you have accomplished one tenth of what George Clooney has accomplished in 47 years then you can talk shit. Until then, discuss the issue or STFU.

Obviously the american public does give a shit about something if not people wouldn't be complaining about not getting new shows come this fall. Since your posting here I imagine you are one of those who sits in front of your tv to watch the people that are fighting for what they deserve. Well if they wanted to save lives under pressure they would have become doctors, wouldn't they, but they chose to be actors. The actors who make millions make them because they are in high demand by the public. Now I get that America should concern themselves with other issues but if you LENNO truly believed that yourself like your stating in your post, you wouldn't be wasting your time coming to an entertainment website that reports on said celebrities.

Seriously you need to get informed, its not for the actors who make the millions, its for the middle class actors that live on paycheck to paycheck. The ones who have trouble qualifying for health care, the ones who get 30 cents a mile for mileage, the ones who are getting screwed over by new media. So before you start ranting about the people around the US not having jobs "regular" jobs, get informed about the "regular" jobs that exist in Los Angeles, which some are in the entertainment business, we too are struggling, maybe not the ones that make the millions like George Clooney or Alec Baldwin but they only make up 2% percent of our union that has over 120,000 members. So get informed before you start going off about something you obviously know nothing about.

What people have to understand is that these negotiations are not about Tom Cruise or George Clooney, this is about wiping out the middle class actor, the stunt person, the extra. There are over 120,000 members in SAG and only about 2% of those actors are making the millions. People have to understand that what we are fighting for is only what we deserve, with the new media that is out there, middle class actors are getting screwed over. The deal that AFTRA made is absolutely ridiculous and is not even a 10th of what we are fighting for. I realize that we just came out of the writers strike, who were fighting for pretty much the same thing, but these are two completely different unions, unfortunately the viewers will suffer with less scripted programming but this strike will be neccessary and will happen if the PRODUCERS don't agree to out terms.

Enough already. No need for a discussion about Clooney's life. If he wants to be private so be it…and it seems he wants all facets of his life private, not just his sex life. His letter was mature and logical. His sexual preferences don't need to be discussed.
