It would be cool if they did something similar to what BET did. Have artist freestyle before commercial breaks. Not necessarily rap but have random people, from different genre of music, perform together. Maybe have a rocker rapper have FOB play a beat and a rapper spit, freestyle hopefully, over the song. Anything to show the recipients deserve what they get. Of the cuff music is great, at least to me.

huh…mtv gives out music video awards, but they dont show any music videos anymore…
they should just bite the bullet, change to reality tv, and let another channel pic up the 24/7 music video style.

i love that all the canadians are in agreement that MTV is SO copying the MMVAs which have been unique in style for the past few years at least. Bell Globe Media owns MTV and Much Music in Canada
