Perez, I love ya but why don't you post up about HELPING ABUSED WOMEN IN AMERICA. I know that people are people, but it's the same principle as the oxygen mask in an airplane…you put your mask on BEFORE you help others. I'm sure you get paid to post that up, but try getting sponsors from AMERICAN shelters. THanks for trying to do the right thing.

Men are always the bad guys. Sorry but more children are brutalized and killed by thier mothers then any other form or violence wheres the outrage. Men are not spouse abusers ,men are not rapists, men are not child abusers and i for one am sick of being told I am a rotten human being because Im a man.

You should look at CORA. It is a service/shelter in San Mateo County, just 30 minutes South of San Francisco. It is a wonderful cause. Knowledge is one of the steps in stopping the violence. Keep up the good work on worthwhile causes.

Re: CanadaGirlInHolland – I actually have worked for many organizations in RI and our system sucks. Doanations mainly go for clothing for the womens children. But nothing for the women as far as eduacation and the skills they need to get on their feet. The shelters do nothing for these women and that is why they end up back in the situation. It is no secret that Canada has a very very low crime rate, especially compared to america. In order for americans to be able to help other nations, we need to work on our own home first…just my opinion.

You people are so freakin ignorant. I bet you the situation in the USA is just as bad or worse. In fact, I bet those numbers are low compared to the rest of the world. Women as a whole are still abused in many different ways, whether physically or emotionally. It's not just Canada. It's EVERYWHERE. We still have a long way to go before all people are considered equal, including "minorities", women and gay people. Not many people know about it because its a touchy subject, just like gay marriage and racism. People don't want to talk about it because "the man" makes it a taboo so that it doesn't get fixed and disturb the disgustingly skewed order of things, with white men at the top of it all.
