There is not enough evidence to say that there is or isn't such a thing as global warming... people can believe what they want but there is NO HARD EVIDENCE to support either arguments.

Why do people think that posing an alternative opinion means it must be coming from a hack? Do you people seriously not realize that there are many different sides to this issue?

And he is right, global warming is a lie.

if you want a concise and logical right-wing rant on global warming that may give you another think... check out author (and i believe he does some "washington post" commentary) JOHN RINGO at John Ringo.com. yes, it's him: OH JOHN RINGO NO!! he actually makes some sense and has made me THINK about science and what is possible... yeah, he writes novels and science fiction but it made me take a second look. and i am an old hippie, now floating in the middle.... also his OH JOHN RINGO NO! tees support the HELEN BAMBER FOUNDATION... and i quote from their site: "Every year we work with hundreds of survivors of torture, trafficking, genocide and rape. By listening to the voices of survivors, we acknowledge what they have been through and support their recovery in a place where they can feel safe." a throughly good guy!

you are embarasssing yourself here. Stop touting republican bullshit flack. The weatherman vs. the Nobel Prize winner, who do you think is telling the truth. Either educate yourself about this stuff or shut up about it. I know you have closet republican tendencies so let me break it down. Everything republicans are for is going to make them money. If they are against something it means they will lose money. They are against environmental policy because their bread and butter comes from raping the earth in 50 different ways. If they could find a way to get rich from green policy, they would. You WILL NOT find the 'objective' voice you are looking for on this, only pro-green policy and rethug propaganda throwing billions into the fight against it. Get a clue.

In addition to my post above, I'm stating that I DO NOT believe in global warming. The climate changes all the time. Lest, we forget the forget the frenzy in the late 70's of imminent Global Cooling. I haven't seen any icebergs floating around NYC lately. Just saying.

However, The UN says it takes 232kg of corn to fill a 50-litre car tank with ethanol. That is enough to feed a child for a year. I'm sorry if I care more about a starving child, than the Global Warming loonies who think that harvesting corn for ethanol is more important. It is important to change our ways, but there are far more pressing and immediate problems in this world than replacing petrol. How many children do you think just died of starvation while I just typed this. About 18. That's disgusting and we should all be ashamed of ourselves.

I do however believe that we can all do our part save energy (it's not that difficult!) and to find alternative energy, but not at the cost of human life.

[re=2417940]Re: wbs[/re]

Again, I don't know where you're from, but there's a huge push in towns, cities, from the media, etc.. I really don't understand why people are so tough on the U.S. on this issue. So many American produced hybrids have been introduced in the past two years it's amazing. I don't know anybody (whether or not they believe in global warming) who is not conserving because they care about what's going on and because they have fiscal common sense.

I do agree with you that Europe has been better about the environment than we have. But the countries in Europe are also smaller, so we have an enormous country with a lot more changes to make. I've mentioned this a bunch of times on here that France gets over 70% of their energy from nuclear power. That idea has been completely shot down the Democrats.

It's really all very complicated, and a sweeping change isn't come overnight, but it's well on it's way. I live in a 5,000 sq. ft, 100+ year old Victorian which is impossible to make totally energy efficient, but we try. So, we do the little things that people can do to be more efficient, but it'll never be a perfect system.

I apologize if I jumped on you like that, I just get very defensive here when told that we don't try...
