ok well i live in Gloucester i am friends with some of theses girls. yea people fucking make mistakes but i mean if there happy then let them be. like i kn half this pact shit is a rumor. people should just like stay out of this its making it harder for all these young mothers. yea its sad and crazy but shit happens for reasons its not that big of a deal.

I agree. The schools need more sex education and a lot more early intervention. The kids are obviously not getting it from home. They obviously do not know anything about the risk of STD's and HIV either. Most teens are too afraid to approach their parents to talk about sex and birth control. I think there should be a program where these teens wanting to get pregnant should "borrow a baby" for 24 hours and see hands on what its like to raise an infant. Better yet, give them a colicy infant! That should be birth control enough!!! We need more "scared straight" programs! I just don't understand this generation. When I was 16 and in high school, I think I was still playing with Barbie Dolls! lol

I have a one year old son and Im 18. Me and my sons father are married and were together for 5 years before having him. Now I know Im a teen mother but I live on my own and make my own money so unlike other teen moms Im doing what I need to. Its not easy by any means to go to college with a baby, much less high school. Making a pact to get pregnant is just stupid unless your about 30 and really feel ready for a baby. Infants dont give love, they take. They take so much paicients and work. They love when they get older but screaming at 4 am when you just finished your psyc. paper thats due in 3 hours and you want to sleep will drive you MAD! I love my son but some days I dont know how Im gonna make it through. If I had it to do over I would have waited, and Im sure there are plenty of moms out there, young and old, that will say the same thing. As for the homeless guy being the dad…. where are the damn parents in this? I swear my parents knew what I was doing at all times when I was at home.

I do not get why so many people are posting that Gloucester girls are "poor white trash, sluts, and whores". Im a 35 your aold woman and grew up in Gloucester all my life. This community is full of hard-working, intelligent and successful people. Maybe the people who call the girls white trash have something personal against them. I work at a Family Planning Clinic in Beverly and we see many young teens coming in for pregnancy tests from all over the north shore. We have several clinics throughout the North Shore and the pregnancy rate in the other cities are much higher than Gloucester. Teen pregnancy is an epidemic everywhere, not just Gloucester. Lets look at the BIG PICTURE and educate these teens. And yes I think birth control should be available to teens at their schools too! Teens are having sex behind their parents backs every day! Instead of trying to cover it up and live in denial, we need to give these young girls an option to protect themselves. If we cant stop them from having sex, at least educate them to make the right decisions and practice SAFE SEX!
