The current owner lost his much loved wife in the famous Swiss Air crash and then eventually remarried, only to have THAT wife come down with a virulent form of cancer. Nothing is more therapeutic than waking up at 6 am on a cold winter morning, and pruning the vines. 26 buds per plant is usually a safe bet. Wine sweetness is another issue all together though. If you want more "bricks of sugar" for the grape juice, by reducing the number of buds, you'll get a sweeter crop. I have no idea what I'm talking about. Aaahhh wine country.
