You do realize that Michael Moore was using a generalization in a satire book, right ? The quotes mentioned in this article come from Downsize This, a book he wrote more than a decade ago, so its not as if this isn't old news…Moore is more making a comparison to the lives lived by Cubans in Miami compared to Cubans in Cuba. While one has "freedom" the other has more equality.

My God, you're double standards are amazing. You can trash anyone you like, it's fine, someone else does it, and their dispicable. Even worse he's trashing Cubans (who's heritage you claim yet show no awareness of).

This guy WENT TO CUBA gay boy, unlike you. HE PRAISED their healthcare system, whereas all you care about is them having cell phones. Go back to sucking the corporate dick and promoting you're fat ass and leave the intellectual stuff to those who have actually been educated above 5th grade.

If Mr. Moore said this he has a point. I lived in Miami for 15 years and have seen the extremes those Cubans are willing to go through to affect change here in America when they should have had the balls to do that in their own country. They try to use the same tactics their government uses to keep them subservient. It's disgusting and it's about time someone said so.

Perez… my dear… please don't be one of the ignorant, mindless people that over-populate our beautiful planet….

telling someone "fuck you" and that they should be "ashamed" of something they have done, said or written is completely up to the individual (aka you and your team) but since most people react as a result of emotion instead of research & fact, I guess i shouldn't have expected any more from you or your website.

had you or any of your colleagues done just a LITTLE research into the accusations of the article (mainly entailing quotes from Moore's book "Downsize THIS") you would know the context in which Moore's book was written. So, instead of trying to educate people (which is obviously not what your website sets out to do, but still could incorporate into your gossip) you choose to jump on a sad little uneducated bandwagon that knows nothing about which you speak. The easiest way to overcome this? Take a deeper, research approach to what headlines you create (regurgitate, rather). But since that approach would take a little more energy than just "read-assume-post", that may be beyond your team's capabilities.

funny how you pride yourself (and have even been awarded) in being an influential Latino, yet litereally sit there 30 and uneducated. *smh*

Lame-Os, stop taking everything personally. Do you people read the National Enquirer and get all worked up over demon babies and Elvis sightings? The article was obviously written to incense people, and you're clearly given the writer way too much credit. It's a notoriously right wing site and Moore's "comments" are really wrong- ask yourself why wouldn't that shit be published in a more respectable periodical, say, like an actual newspaper?

I know what he means whether he said it well or not. I worked 15 yrs in the FL legislature & the right wing cuban americans (not all but most) were hysterical re: any mention that our policy towards Cuba was outdated & they voted Republican because that party catered to them. That attitude has been BAD for this country. Anyone who did not agree was a commie sympathizer….just like anyone who doesn't agree w/ Israel stance is an anti-semetic. When will we learn how many shades of grey there are?

make sure you read the actual material that's being quoted that entire "news" site is a conservative op-ed they're predisposed to reading negativity out of moore's work who's to say that the quote isn't out of context or manipulated seriously, mario, do the homework before you make your decision
