Gerard only admitted he wasn't dating Cameron after she didn't play his game. Gerard joked to the paps that he was dating her to stay in America not Cameron. Then when she was pictured kissing Jason Patric he came out and changed his tune because he was embarrassed. I believe Gerard was all too ready to have a public fling with Cameron for a while.

Why is Gerard 'dating down the food chain?' Birds of a feather flock together that's why. Gerard Butler did a good job of getting the public to believe he was anything other than what he's been revealed to be now that the spotlight is on him. A-list he is not. L.A. fried to bits is more like it. Loved Phantom of the Opera though!
