Check out pancan.org for information about pancreatic cancer, the desperate need for research funding and awareness and how you can help. Especially all of you who, like me, lost a loved one to pancreatic cancer.

so many of you are idiots. if you think cancer is curable and that pancreatic cancer is not a violent cancer you could not be more wrong. i watched my dad die from this disease in 10 months. this cancer is undetectable, fast progressing and nearly impossible to treat. did you know that most of the drugs they are still using in clinical trials are over 20 years old? no progress has been made in this field in the last quarter century which is why the mortality rates are so high. to sit back and think that cancer can be cured you must never have watched someone you love die from it. for every person that survives it, there are thousands who never stood a chance and the type of cancer, the type of treatment and the way your body responds to it all make up your odds. i pray that patrick's odds are favorable but the statistics show that he has a fight. be supportive and offer hope but don't spout off about pancreatic cancer being treatable and curable when it is in fact very much the opposite. you are doing a great disservice to the disease and the people who suffer/will suffer from it if you talk such garbage.

No offense but - EVERYTHING CAN BE CURED if you have MONEY. Magic Johnson had had AIDS for at least 20 years....he ain't even looking bad.
I really feel bad for ANYONE with a "terminal" illness but I have a problem with people who are denied the treatment i.e. "cure" because they don't have millions. Invest in Pharmacuticals...ESPECIALLY IF YOU'RE ILL. You'll never go broke cause you'll never be cured as long as they can keep you buying the meds...that don't cure you.

Pancreatic cancer isn't incurable! It just usually isn't diagnosed until it spreads to other organs...which is what usually makes it so fatal! He still has a fighting chance if they caught it early and got it out before it spread!

My dad died of it, had the whipple surgery and chemo and all, it's lethal and kills quick, if you do have it, there's probably only about a %2 chance you will live, and if you do, it's only for a few years, but I still wish patrick the best and hope we can find a cure for this horrible disease. GET WELL PATRICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
