On another note, while Perez and Katy Perry may not be homophobic, that doesn't change the fact that this song will be listened to and sung by young teenagers who don't understand the irony or the joke behind the song and just see it as nothing more than adults who condone equating "gay" with "lame" and further, portrayal of homosexuality in stereotypical and inaccurate ways. I'm not concerned about those of you who will listen and differentiate between a silly song and reality; I'm worried about those who won't know the difference. Perez you're far too smart and socially conscious to contribute to the exposure of this song.
