I hate misleading stories like this. My brother was in a similar accident/had similar injuries, and I can tell you right now that if he's just starting to open his eyes after 4 months, that's not a good sign. Typically, the longest a true coma lasts is about 4 weeks; after that, the person opens his eyes and is often in a vegetative state after that. Sometimes permanently. Opening eyes does not mean he's "responsive" whatsoever. I lived that hell with my brother for too long to think differently. I'm not saying there's no chance of recovering, but this "doing better" bullshit pisses me off. Odds are not in his favor, I can tell you that.

Agree with CB. The power of prayer works? Shut the fuck up. Is that why people die on a daily basis just minding their own business? Innocent people getting carjacked, people dying of cancer, and kids getting raped over and over again? And "the power of prayer works"? Bullshit. Wake up! God obviously ignored the first 10,000 prayers and then choose to intervene at 10,001.

God is supposedly all-powerful AND good, so why does he either allow people to suffer and do nothing about it, or doesn't want them to suffer but is powerless to stop it.

Come to think of it, if God is so amazing, why didn't he wait until 2007 to send his only son to Earth so Jesus could start a blog and post his miracles on YouTube. That way he could show 6 billion people "the way" instead of just a few thousand. No, he supposedly sent him to the Middle East two thousand years ago and, presumably, doesn't care much about other races to tell them about Christianity. Do Chinese people go to hell to suffer for eternity if they don't know about Christianity? Is God fullfilling his end of the deal?

Religion is stupid - think for yourselves! That's what a REAL God, if one existed, would want you to do.

Prayers don't work! They never do! In fact - this has be proven, people who now that they are prayed for, are doing worse.

So stop praying. There are no gods anyway (because if there would be a god, Perez would be dead already). He is doing better because of 'healing' 'rerouting of brain functions' and rehab.
