So is Jay Leno. These writers have a right to strike, but they cannot force other people that do not correspond with them to follow. The fact is this, there are hungry young talents comming up in hollywood. Hollywood hasn't produced an original Idea, they are all washed up remakes and books. That's why these people are panicking. Hey that's great that they want royalties, but do actors and actress get royalties for the DVD's as well? What about the extras? The Art work people? The editors? Yes, the writers came up with the story but without everyone else its just words on a damn paper. So if they get a raise everyone esle should also. If the get royalties so should the others. The ultimatum is this everyone gets it or no one does, and they fire eveyone who is in breach of contract. Under my understanding the minute you write something and sell your rights, thats it, you get no royalties. READ the FINE PRINT next time simple as that.
