El cantante was not promoted and advertised as much as it should have been and was shown in very few theaters that is why it didn't do as good as it should have !!!!!! It won't happen. The movie itself seemed to concentrate more on Puchi narrating; than the whole story of who Hector Lavoe really was. He was a lot more than someone addicted to drugs. The concert scenes were good; but not long enough. The movie did not concentrate on WHY people adored him so much and WHY he became the "people's singer". Marc is great -- Jennifer on the other hand - no comparison. She's a smart promoter of herself and knows what to do when it comes to getting attention; but she should really stick to dancing.
