"Nice" dog, "mean" dog…who cares as long as the owner is competent and responsible? People get hurt and killed, because of CARELESS IDIOTS who own protective dogs. I have a breed that has a natural dislike for strangers. He is no threat to anyone (unless they break in *and* don't back off), because I won't have it. I have him neutered, utd on shots, routine vet care, doesn't roam the neighborhood, leashed when out with me, properly/safely contained in a fence when outdoors for #1 & #2, otherwise kept indoors, etc. I would never in a million years put innocent people at risk. He's not a 'man-eater' anyhow, I wouldn't have such a thing. Especially, with children in the house. He's a good dog, who loves his home and family. Adores the kids and lives for playing fetch with them. He will bring them a ball for hours on end. It TRULY is the bad owners to blame.
