Her GRANDMOTHER taught her traditional belly dance to honor the middle eastern part of her heritage, and that's how she expresses herself while performing. I think she looks beautiful, but I do like her usual style better than how the commercial folks dressed her. A little too "artsy" and done up, except for the hot pink dress, which is adorable. I think she's a wonderful combination of cute and sexy, and a good musician too. I'm kind of an indie snob for the most part, but Shakira is a not so guilty pleasure who I listen to regularly. I even like her English language "sell-out" music. She writes more interesting lyrics than people who are native speakers. Shakira is not a stripper.
